Anthem Rebrand (2015)

Anthem Rebrand (2015)

Through a distillation of 50 years of product and marketing archives, strategically designed & developed a global branding system that refreshed all outward facing brand assets by celebrating Vans® authentic roots and appealing to a growing segment of millenials and non-skaters, thus repositioning Vans® as California’s most-beloved brand.

Role: Head of Art, Graphic Designer

California Collection (2010-2015)

In a strategic move to segment and expand on brand storytelling initiatives, Vans® launched the Cali Collection, a capsule of seasonal footwear, apparel and accessories that employs unique details, elevated craftsmanship, and is distributed among elevated retailers. Over the course of five years, I led the art direction and creation of all graphic and brand assets, each of which pays homage to all things California.

Role: Art Director, Head of Art

Vault x Murakami (2015)

In collaboration with Team Murakami, created a carte blanche branding system that brought his iconic artwork to life by tapping into the wonder and curiosity of Murakami’s characters and opening the door to Murakami’s fantasy world in a never-before-seen way.

Jimmy’Z FA/HO’22 (2021)

In anticipation of JIMMY’Z relaunch, worked with business leaders to build the creative direction for the highly anticipated relaunch of this seminal 1980’s Los Angeles lifestyle brand. In addition to market research, mood boarding and seasonal direction, I was tasked with building a small creative team to design for all categories: apparel, accessories, trims, tees & prints. The final result was a contemporary collection rooted in brand authenticity and quintessential Los Angeles styling.

No Wave Collection (2015)

Led the concept and creation of the “No Wave” capsule branding and styleguide, inclusive of naming strategy, identity and relevant applications. The concept tapped into the sights and sounds of the late 70‘s and early 80’s Grunge and New Wave music scenes, introducing a new thread of creativity to RVCA’s reputation as a counter cultural influencer.

X/DMG Trims & Hardware (2021)

I partnered with Globe brand stakeholders to create a comprehensive trims and hardware palette for the launch of their newest subsidiary, x/dmg, a sustainable workwear clothing brand scheduled for global distribution. The resulting system offered a vision of the future of workwear and defined their modern utilitarian aesthetic.
